The Scriven Arts Colony is at 452 NH Route 140, Gilmanton, NH 03237. The events take place in a rickety barn attached to an old white farm house. Look for a white picket fence and the Scriven Arts Colony signs planted on the lawn. Volunteers will guide you toward a parking spot by the roadside. (Please note: If it is pouring rain and muddy, you may need to park at The Gilmanton Academy, just down the hill.)
From Concord and Boston: Get yourself to Gilmanton's only stop sign, at the corner of Routes 140 and 107. Now you have less than 1/4 mile to go. Proceed slowly east on Route 140, uphill, and look to the right. Our house is the third one on the right. Look for the picket fence and The Scriven Arts Colony lawn signs. If you pass Greeley Farms Road (on the right), you've gone too far.
From Portsmouth and Portland: Get yourself to Alton, New Hampshire. From there, you've got about a 15 minute drive. Turn west onto Route 140. After 5.8 miles, you will will reach the Gilmanton Iron Works Store. Then 2.1 miles later, you'll pass The Gilmanton School and, across from it, The Gilmanton Year Round Library. Keep going on Route 140. Eventually--3.5 miles after the library--you’ll be climbing a hill and passing, on the right, Sawtooth Road. Crest the hill and start descending, slowly. After roughly a quarter mile, you will see a large open meadow on your right. The Scriven Arts Colony is directly across the street.
